Re: "Wondering If Maybe You've Overlooked Us"

Dearest God,

I realize You must be a very busy being, but I just hoping that when You get some time to go through Your mail; hopefully, this will be one of the many letters you read.

My name is Larry Blakeley. I was born on planet earth at the Callan Hospital on April 7, 1954 to the loving parents, Johnnye Louise (Ashton) and Roy James Blakeley. This particular place of birth was located in a very small town called Rotan, in the northwestern quadrant of the great State of Texas, in the god-fearing country formed over 200 years ago, legally designated as "The United States of America." I have been living here for over 50 years now.

And, I was just wondering if it would not be considered to presumptuous to question whether You have inadvertently, in all your great wisdom, overlooked us here on earth - and, in particular, as to those promises that Your son, Jesus, made to our ancestors over 2,000 years ago.

I realize that's a long time ago to try to remember, but we have keep pretty good records here on earth of what Your promises were. And, as to this particular promise - it's my general understanding from what I've been taught in bible school, church, Sunday school, as well as the teachings of "The Word" from my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and so forth; plus, just the general reading that I have done on my own of "The Book with All the Answers" - that You promised to send Your son, Jesus, back down here to finish up some very important business - some cleanup work - if You will. And, I was wondering if it might be appropriate for me to suggest to You that You might want to do that pretty soon.

So, that is really the purpose of this letter: just a friendly reminder from another subordinate here on earth suggesting to you that You might want to consider finishing up with Your unfinished business here on earth before You get Your hands full with creation projects elsewhere.

And, why my urgency now after being here for over 50 years?

Well, I watched television the other evening - and I know You don't get Your news this way - and a man came on and told me that he was very pleased with the way we Americans are going after the bad people in another little country thousands of miles from here across a very large body of water (one of the same bodies of water left here after the last time You got angry at us) - in fact, not too far from the area where Your Son lived for a few years. This place is now called Iraq after being named so by the British in 1922. The British returned to occupy Iraq during World War II - a war effort that was successful in getting rid of a pretty bad guy named Adolf Hitler - who, for some unknown reason, had a terrible grudge against the Jewish community and was trying his best to exterminate these people.

Well, anyway - this man on the television was a fella named Jerry Falwell - and, it's my general understanding that this particular man is, in fact, a follower and staunch believer that this man, Jesus, was Your son and The Christ. But, I have gone back to the "The Book with All the Answers" and searched the teachings of Your son, Jesus, and can't find anything in there (the second half of "The Book with All the Answers" if You need to refer to it) that reminds me of Jesus and his teachings to the multitude gathered around him. Not one single thing about these teachings did this man - Falwell - make reference to while being interviewed on the television. And, ever since then I have been having these God-awful nightmares and horrible daydreams, or visions, if you will - all of which have been leaving me with a nauseous feeling in the pit of my stomach, a heavy sadness in the bottom of my heart, and a confusion within the interior of my soul and spirit. And, these feelings of hopelessness have left me wondering, that just maybe, "You've inadvertently overlooked us here."

What else about this man's interview disturbed me?

Well, this man of God - I presume it's You he's professing to follow - never flinched and never even considered, acknowledged, or even humbled himself to the thought that there might be innocent women, children, and non-terrorist inhabitants of that God-forsaken country being killed right along with these bad guys. In fact, I watched in horror as he proudly and pompously described how many of "his millions of followers of Jesus Christ" also agreed with these scatter-gun methods of killing - and, were very pleased with the way we have proceeded to get these bad guys.

Now, I don't really have a problem with rounding up the bad guys. In fact, I grew up applauding good guys like Roy Rogers at the picture show on Saturday afternoon matinees doing just that - going after the bad guys - but he did not kill innocent people - or, rather I never saw it. And, after my after my mother took me to meet him at the Apple Valley Inn in 1965 - I just don't believe he would ever kill the innocent right alongside the bad guys.

So, if this person - Jerry Falwell - is the leader of millions of Americans professing adherence to the teachings of Your son - do You suppose that one of us - me - and many others of us - them - are misunderstanding what Your son was talking to the multitudes gathered about Him?

And, since I personally am trying to get to Heaven the best way I know how - as a Dove - and, just if, this man - Falwell - is correct, then we may need You to send Jesus back down here to finish the job, as promised.

Oh, by the way, if I do get to go to Heaven can You put me somewhere away from the spirit of Mr. Falwell? I just can't stand the thought of spending all these years here on earth trying to get to Heaven and then end up having to be next to his spirit for eternity.

Thank You, God, for taking the time to read this letter.

And, if You want to get in touch with me - You can email me at larry@larryblakeley.com, or just stop by the house sometime and we will talk.

Best Regards - and "keep up the Good Work"

A fan of Yours,

Larry Blakeley
