Major Roy James Blakeley (December 10, 1928 - July 22, 1965) - USAF (KIA)

When I was young my dad would say
Come on son let's go out and play

No matter how hard I try
No matter how many tears I cry
No matter how many years go by
I still can't say goodbye

- "I Still Can't Say Goodbye," Performer: Chet Atkins

MP3 audio file/lyrics http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/songs/still_cant_say_goodbye.htm

For a larger image click on the photograph.

Maybe someone told you these things, when you were very young -

"you're not good enough;"

"you're not bright enough;"

"you will never amount to much of anything;"

"stupid, stupid, stupid;"

"you don't know nothin';"

and, as you've aged, somehow it has become an unconscious belief about yourself that you are not consciously aware of.

And, just maybe these words were told to you by persons that had no clue whatsoever as to the ultimate, seemingly, everlasting effects these words of deprecation have had on both your conscious and unconscious sense of self-worth and self-image.

And, just maybe there is an elitist segment of the American population that is aware of your tendency to consider yourself inferior to anyone that possesses those weapons of intimidation of power, wealth, and intellectual supremacy; all of which is outwardly witnessed by the rest of us, by their fancy cars, their fancy homes, and their degrees that there wealth ensures them of - all there, right in front our noses.

And, suppose that these myths of real manhood are thrown up on the TV screen every single day in a selfish pursuit of evermore riches by these same folks - that know fully well that you will never achieve these possessions unless you go into ever-increasing debt, or just flat-ass luck out on some business deal.

And, suppose there is a group of media journalists that are constantly bombarding our consciousness with lies and falsehoods - all cloaked words of "objective truth seeking"

And, suppose further that all of this lying can be traced back to a game us boys used to play called, "king of the hill, or the mountain?"

Could you consider an argument that I am making here, that it may, in fact, be that simple - why you can't learn?

But, even further - what if you did not learn that your entire life had been based on lies and falsehoods of manhood that came from a wolf in sheep's skin? And, you don't learn of these truths until you look up from your hospital bed with only moments, or days to live.

What would you do after your realization of all the "damage you had done" - the wars that you supported, the killings you enjoyed, the children of yours you destroyed with your false sense of manhood - all these years?

And, what would you think if there was nobody in the room, but you?

Yes, this could happen to you if you don't wake-up, look around, and realize what you are doing by accepting carta blanche, in your senseless blind-faith - the same lies that were told to you when you were a small boy, the same lies that became your measurement of yourself as a man - lies, that within moments prior to your final sleep, become perfectly clear to you, as you look around the room for your loved ones to comfort you in your time of need for some comfort in your exit from this world; but, there is nobody in the room, but you - all alone with your memories and newly discovered truths of what you should have, and could have been to so many people - the goodness my father was speaking of in a letter to his mother when he was just 17 years old, away from home for the first time, from a Navy vessel in San Diego, California:

"Mother I think more or you than any person in this whole world. I now wish that I had never said anything to hurt your feelings. Here a person can think of what all the good things he could have been doing for someone he loves like you Mom. I guess a person has to live to learn and I learn't the hard way. - " - Letter dated January 12, 1946 from Roy Blakeley to his mother, Violet Blakeley. http://www.royblakeley.name/roy_james_blakeley/letter_rblakeley19460124.htm

Would you wish you could do it over, again?

Would you cry yourself to your final "sleep?"

Would you ask for your horrible memories of self-indulgence to "just go away, and leave you be?"

Or, would you wonder in astonishment that you had been duped your entire life?

How, in hell, did this happen to you?

Where, on earth, did you get it wrong?

Well, I really can't speak from the female perspective, so I won't. But, I have been a male for the past 50 years and I don't need "no stinkin' badges" http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/quotations/badges_quote_traven_book.htm to speak my mind on the way I see things of the male vintage. , now - so, I won't. But, what I propose to you here, is that the typical male may, in fact, have learned this mentality of superiority from our childhood game that we called - "king of the hill, or the mountain."

For those of us getting too old to remember, and for the female reader certainly - here's how the game is played.

The game has to be played with two, or more, boys. It does not really matter what age group you play with, but you learn right quick that this game is best played with boys of your own age and size; or else, you will never ascend to the top of the hill - never. Well, hardly, ever - unless, of course, you're one of those small, mean, tough-as-nails boys that had big brothers that made you tough as a boot.

So, all of us boys learn early on that it's damn difficult to get on top of "that little fella," and stay there - someone is always ready to challenge you and knock you off. And, if you stay on the top long enough, you will get knocked off by somebody.

And, it becomes apparent to many of the boys that mental strategies and tactical decisions must be reached - even for this simple game of physical prowess - in order to swing the odds in your favor of getting to the "coveted" prize - the top of the hill - a position of valued superiority over all the other boys - a position of always looking down your nose at the rest of us.

Some of the boys have developed a strategy of just laying-low - in wait, so to speak - for everyone else to get tired and weakened - then they make their move. These are usually the thinkers of the group - the strategists; the tacticians - hoping to be able to get by without too much physical exertion, and "think" themselves up the hill. Then you've got the big boys, they just get on top and knock everyone else off - until, the group gets tired of this and jumps him all at once - if it comes down to that.

So, this is a game that taught us early on that we must learn how to calculate, do some figuring in our minds, and come up with a strategy for increasing our odds of getting to the "coveted" top of the hill.

What happens if you are one of those boys that does not see the thrill of this game?

Well, you just simply - "sit-out;" and watch the other boys go at it. But, if you do this too often, you could become friendless - and, have to resort to playing with the girls - whatever that calls for - personally, I've never been there before, so what goes on in these circles was beyond me then, and still is after all of these years - still struggling to understand these people from another planet of origin. This has probably been the most difficult lack of understanding that I have ever been continuously forced to deal with - but, that's another story - and, very well, much longer. And, for me, certainly a lot less fun to write about.

Alright, so where were we?

Oh, yes - after all the boys have come to agreement on just what this next game of activity is going to be, sorted through the rules of play (actually, there are none; that's right, anything goes, no prisoners taken at this game), and have picked a good hill to play on, the action gets going. Someone, leaps forward up sides of the hill (it doesn't matter who because there really isn't any long-term advantage of being the first to reach the peak, for will be promptly removed) quickly runs to the top before any of the other boys and bangs his chest with his fists. But, believe me this is just a momentary sense of achievement in mental and physical superiority - for he is promptly removed. You have to earn it in order to win at this game.

So, before much chest-banging goes on, here comes the rest of the pack - fighting, throwing each other down, and, just becoming one glob of mischief-making, fun, and "machismo-seeking."

It's a dirty, filthy game.

Why is that? Because it's played on the top of a mound of dirt. No special mound, mind you, but, of sufficient size in circumference and altitude to give everyone some room to fight on.

So, these antics go on continuously for 30 minutes, or so - kings coming and going. Then, suddenly, after everyone is tired, sweaty, dirty, lying around trying to catch their breaths, they look up - and, there he is - in all his glory - "the king of the hill" - way up there on the top of that "little fella" - above everyone else, spitting his untruths and falsehoods for everyone else to hear - of just how much better he is than every single one of us poor souls; tired, beat down from struggle, just poor peons, in the eyes of this "king of the hill" of manhood-seeking.

What else can a boy do, but listen to him, while searching for and tending to his wounds - of the heart and soul - that very same couple that just 30 minutes prior were hand in hand, both convincing their owner of his "invincibility" - this destructive falsehood leading all boys of youth down a path filled with illusions of grandeur and based on perverted vanity, and its accompanying by-products of superiority, and dominance over every other creature on earth - bar none.

For those of us that may not have ever been the "king of the hill" for even a day, or those that stood by and watched this game of boys learning how to become men - I say to you - you have allowed these lies and falsehoods from these same "kings of the hills" to define your self-worth and self-image ever since, and thus, by so doing, limited your ability to learn the truth - that the "king of the hill," no-matter which day of achievement - is nothing more, and nothing less than a boldface liar, the same historical man consumed by his own narcism ever since he first caught a glance of his love of self in the reflection of himself from the surface of the pond of water that he was peering into -improprieties continuously coming from the mouth of that "vain" liar in love with nobody, but himself. He lied to you that day on top of the hill looking down upon you and has been lying to your ever since.

Why then? Why, would he want to lie to you?

"Well, the wolves want to "control." They have their "self-interest" agendas to pursue. Granted, there's probably fewer of them around (but increasing in numbers). Information, knowledge, power - they all ultimately aid in acquiring control.

Control over what, you ask? Control over you!! - "The Enemy Within: The Extinction of Fatherhood in America" http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/articles/enemy_within.htm,

Larry Blakeley, May 21, 2004 .".. It's journalists like Judith Miller and Bill O'Reilly that are the enemy of truth..." - Why You Can't Learn

Because his entire existence has been lived for the person peering infatuated by his own reflection when he peered into the waters of the pond - a narcist fool - swarming in his perverted, slimy, stench, of unhealthy self-love; megalomanic fantasies forever in need of admiration and adoration by others - no matter the cost, no matter the pain, no matter the loss - he's never satisfied, never filled up - in constant need of feeding on the innocent and helpless poor souls looking for something, or someone that can give them meaning to their lives - these poor souls that believed what he said to them that day from the peak of that hill of deceit, deception, and lies - just someone to help them

- pleading while "down on your knees, And you'll be beggin' me, "Please... Make it stop!"- "No Talking, Just Head," The Heads, Album: No Talking, Just Head, 1996.

MP3 audio file/lyrics at http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/songs/no_talking_just_head.htm

And, this fool all the while reciting to himself, "My life is everything that feeds my thirst - that causes sin. My wants are all I care - no shame or guilt." - "The Scorpion (The System Has Failed)," Megadeth MP3 audio file/lyrics at http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/songs/scorpion_megadeth.htm

And, this venomous killer is forever in-wait; just waiting for you to fall in love with him - and, admire and adore him, until his thirst for more souls to eat leads him to kill you - he strikes you with his deadly fangs of poisonous venom - venom that kills, ever so slowly and painful; venom of death for you, your son, your daughter, your mother, your father, your brother, your sister, and your friends, and anybody else that matters to you. There are no prisoners taken - death is the ultimate high, the ultimate confirmation of control and superiority over the rest of us, the ultimate satisfaction, and the ultimate sacrifice for his world of hate.

And, if those of us lying about, licked, wounded - and, just dead-tired of the fight were to ever learn of the power of banding together to defeat these liars, then each would disappear - one by one - all gone, in an instant. And, if we were to sort through together these lies of his and come to the realization that the blood running through each of our veins is the same color as his when it exits - dripping for all to see - the "same bright, red color as his, the same as each other - no difference, whatsoever.

So, these "kings of the hills" grow up, become "so-called" admired and adored men by the masses, pillars of dominance and power of the individual over the masses; revered for their wealth, power, and distorted legacy-building. He stands up before us and spits down the same old lies and falsehoods - all heard by many of us when we were just boys, many, many years ago - in a game we played called "the king of the hill."

And, there he is again - in all his glory - "the king of the hill" - way up there on the top of that "little fella" - above everyone else, spitting his untruths and falsehoods for everyone else to hear - of just how much better he is than every single one of us poor souls; tired, beat down from struggle, just poor peons, in the eyes of this "king of the hill" of domination and control.

And, all the while thinking to himself:

"you're not good enough;"

"you're not bright enough;"

"you will never amount to much of anything;"

"stupid, stupid, stupid;"

"you don't know nothin.'"

And, we still believe him even after all these long years - never to learn the truth - helpless souls offered up for sacrifice on their altars atop the peak of the hill, for all below to see this demonstration of power and control over the rest of us.

And, as aging marches onward, onward deep into the forest of the warped world of adulthood, with all its mandates of social and political correctness, these same "kings of the hills" learn to become a little more discrete up there on the top, looking down - and, certainly, much more stealthy - upon us, all the while retaining their despicable commonality of lack of good character. They are forever propelled and fueled by their brothers and sisters-in-kind - a discrimination of the common, ordinary American man, all contained in their thoughts of silence, uttered to nobody buty themselves and their fellow brethren, of their superiority over everyone else - hidden from exposure by their elitist brethren and those other kings of men - all disguised and hidden from view by the rest of us in sheep's clothing."

And, of what consequences will these "kings of the hills" suffer for their transgressions? Absolutely, nothing, unless, of course you believe what this man had to say about it 2,000 years, or so, ago:

"16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom."

- Jesus, the gospel according to Saint Matthew, King James Bible Stories, Classic Literature Library. http://www.classic-literature.co.uk/

So, just what are the consequences to us for failing to learn the truth?

As I stated above, death for you, your son, your daughter, your mother, your father, your brother, your sister, and your friends, and anybody else that matters to you. There are no prisoners taken - death is the ultimate high, the ultimate control, the ultimate satisfaction, and the ultimate sacrifice for his world of hate.

And, this hate will be carried forth to every nation, every country, every community, every tribe - everybody that gets in his way during his times for feeding his insatiable appetite of narcism. He will cloak himself with an image of Christianity (albeit, a superior one), in order to carry out his so-called "killing for the good of ridding evil," his imperialistic demonstrations of domination and control over everyone else; while we're lying there at the bottom of the hill - beat down, tired, and believers of his lies.

Are we to be forsaken here on earth - forever condemned to this madness?

Well, the scriptures of the Bible promises otherwise:

"Because you have kept my command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world to test those who dwell on the earth."

This verse is a promise made by Christ to one of His seven churches, the church of Philadelphia.áThe hour of trial Jesus speaks of in this verse is the period of time that our Lord calls the "great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be" (Matthew 24:21). - taken from my Web page called "A Thief in the Night" at http://www.royblakeley.name/thief_in_the_night.htm

And, what about mama - does she bear any responsibility at all for these deaths today, and those tomorrow to come? Or, is she just a passive bystander - muttering to herself words, of "how do I undo the damage I have done?" - MP3 audio file/lyrics at http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/songs/damage_done.htm

."... So, the Dad that has never given him much attention says, æSon, I'm proud of you. You're a man to be giving to your country,' but, it's Mama - that birthed and raised him that is the key to sending him off to war - so, her heart is telling her something's wrong with this, but everything 'outside' of her is conflicting with her basic soul of goodness. She lets go, her neighbor's mother let's go, and so on down the block - the mothers of the house are letting go and giving the final, OK, as she stands at the screen door quoting her beloved scriptures in silence, so nobody else hears - all the while looking at herself walking away down the sidewalk of 'manhood.' A road she has no understanding of whatsoever. Guess what ..... duped, again. Manhood wins, again. You snooze, you lose. That's the rules of the game. It's accepted as the way to survive, but if you snooze - you will lose. Manhood takes no prisoners - no sir -eeeeee..... it's lives they need.

On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;

And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming

And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadows on the floor;

And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor

Shall be lifted - nevermore!" - "The Raven," Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven and Other Tales, A Glassbook Classic.

"An American Mother - Left Behind"

"Even though there is no indication of when my Grandmother Violet wrote this in my father's bible that he took with him to Vietnam - I can't help but think, having a letter returned to her in this clearly insensitive manner by her son's own squadron commander, surely had her feeling abandoned and forsaken by her Lord. Don't feel the pain? Just can't experience what I am talking about? It's never happened to you, or anyone in your family, yet?

Well, let's try this (for the effect only - and if you are squeamish, then you may not want to enter - but, if you decide to enter, then enter at your own risk - this is an experience for those of you who have never experienced this - what it might feel like - the permanent pain of death; death of a loved one - go here http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/articles/pain_death_experiment.htm and hang on).

But what about the American woman. Are her hands void of the blood of the American man?

Can they be considered "queens of the hills?"

Not that I'm aware of. In all my years of playing this "king of the hill" game I have never seen a girl participate, either with the boys, or in a group of their own gender. But, something is brewing - and, it's very similar to the same vanity and narcist feeding frenzy as her male counterpart in crime, deception, and lies.

Should the American woman spitting these same lies be held accountable? Hell, yes! Most definately. If she wants to enter the game of deceit then she will suffer the consequences when we drag her out - screaming for mercy - no prisoners to be taken.

Just read on for one example:

- "Pulitzer Prize winner Judith Miller's series of exclusives about weapons of mass destruction in Iraqùcourtesy of the now-notorious Ahmad Chalabiùhelped the New York Times keep up with the competition and the Bush administration bolster the case for war. How the very same talents that caused her to get the story also caused her to get it wrong...."

- "The Source of the Trouble," Franklin Foer, From the June 7, 2004 issue of New York Magazine. http://www.royblakeley.name/articles/monthly_articles/franklin_foer20040607.htm

It would not surprise me in the least bit if The New York Times has moved her to the back of the room - out of sight - until everyone forgets what "damage she has done" - "Damage I've Done," The Heads, Album: No Talking, Just Head, 1996.

MP3 audio file/lyrics at http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/songs/damage_done.htm - all in the pursuit of her own warped vanity and love of herself."

So, I suppose a female could answer the question, "what in the world drives a woman to leave so much destruction in her path?

And, how in the world did she even think she could just waltz into the world of the corrupt male and not be given a good lesson of the game "the king of the hill?"

I mean there's no way she could possibly have any clue of what she's in-store for by entering the man's world of hate, evil, and corruption of the soul (remember - there are no rules - no daddy to reach down and save her) in this man's game. She met her match on this little incident of fame-chasing - and, they gave her a dose of a game that had been mastered many, many, many years ago - all going on while she was playing with her Barbie dolls, or whatever. http://www.royblakeley.name/roy_james_blakeley/george_436th_fighter_squadron/directory_santa_note_karen.djv

It's journalists like Judith Miller and Bill O'Reilly that are the enemy of truth.

Yes, that "fair and balanced" advocate whose validity as a man is constantly in need of reminding us poor souls - and, I suppose himself - that he represents "us." This is a man fixated on himself - a vain, liar that is forever boasting of the fear he instills in those poor souls lying about at the bottom of the hill - while, all the while, cloaking his vanity with visions of grandeur, of being a new-age "Mike Wallace."

Come to think of it - I really don't recall Mike Wallace expressing the need to continuously croak about what a blunt, kick-ass, journalist he was.

And, why has Bill O'Reilly said on his show a few times that he is afraid to be quoted off the air?

Could it be because he knows that even a hard-core liar like himself may inadvertently reveal himself to others, as he is looking down into the surface of the pond of his reflection - his true love, himself - if just allowed to speak long enough about himself that he will reveal truth about his weak and distorted character of soul for what it is, and has been, all along - full of flat-out, lies and acts of deception.

I suppose he knows that if he has a slip of that arrogant tongue of his, he just screw up, and then his true improprieties of character will be spread all over the globe, throughout the virtual world of the internet, like lightning descending from the clouds with a big - bang - and a brilliant flash of light - the blinding light of truth - truth about his inadequacies as a man of self-proclaimed, good character, all the while using his torch of representing the rest of us. I can represent myself, thank you.

I give him and his little "empire of dirt" - I wear this crown of thorns, Upon my liar's chair, Full of broken thoughts, I cannot repair," - "Hurt," Music and Lyrics by Trent Reznor MP3 audio file/lyrics at http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/songs/johnny_cash/hurt.htm

- a false forum for his proclaiming of his false concepts of "fair and balanced" - for the people - 5 years - maximum. Or, at least I hope he's taken down from his throne of vanity.

The power of the internet and its empowerment and enablement to folks demanding "truth" scares the hell out of these liars. (See "Example of Enabler and Individual Empowerment" at http://www.royblakeley.name/example_enabler_empowerment.htm

Why? Because they will be exposed to a huge audience (in just minutes) as to what manner of untruths came forth from their vain souls - and, be held accountable, and suffer the consequences of those lies that come forth spitting from their mouths, up there on top of the hill - as they look down to the common, ordinary American man.

"Are you sure he's a wolf?"

Well, I feel like Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart must have felt when he struggled with conclusively defining "obscenity" in Jacobellis v. Ohio, 878 U.S. 184 (1964) http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?court=US&vol=378&invol=184, and wrote the following:

."... but I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description (of prior obscenity case); and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it...."

So, if it smells like a wolf, sounds like a wolf, acts like a wolf, walks like a wolf - then it is a wolf - "The Enemy Within: The Extinction of Fatherhood in America" http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/articles/enemy_within.htm

"And if you like to rest awhile,

I'll snugly tuck you in!

Oh no, no, said the little Fly,

for I've often heard it said"

They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed!

- "The Spider and the Fly," Mary Howitt (1799 - 1888)

So, where are we with all this?

Well, to wrap it up, you have somehow forgotten that:

.".. that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," I presume from birth. And, these rights cannot be taken away from you by government or anyone else here in America.... - "The Belly of the Ship," Larry Blakeley - Author and Publisher, September 20, 2004 http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/articles/belly_of_ship.htm

and, that the world today is much, much more complicated than years ago when we were playing the game "king of the hill."

And, with this complexity - the evilmongers have more places to hide from us.

And, it is becoming more urgent that the common, ordinary American man take more of an initiative in creating communities of trust amongst ourselves - communities whereby we know who each other is, where he was born, who his parents were, where he grew up, a man of good character, a man of extraordinary strengths of the virtues of honesty, fair dealing, truthfulness, and goodness of heart. (See "A Message to the Common, Ordinary, American Man," Larry Blakeley, Author and Publisher http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/articles/common_ordinary_american_man.htm).

And, above all, we need to band together and knock these "kings of the hills" off their throne used for distributing their falsehoods in the name of truth and honesty.

So, what are we to do?

Become the "old man" that the poet, William Wordsworth, writes about in this poem, an excerpt, as follows:

"My question eagerly did I renew,

"How is it that you live, and what is it you do?"

He with a smile did then his words repeat;

And said, that, gathering leeches, far and wide

He travelled; stirring thus about his feet

The waters of the pools where they abide.

"Once I could meet with them on every side;

But they have dwindled long by slow decay;

Yet still I persevere, and find them where I may."

- "Resolution and Independence," William Wordsworth

And, by all means, be aware of some of your patterns of learning that have been restricting your ability to learn - one of which is set out below:

"Adult learners tend to expect learning to be delivered in a traditional, teacher-led way, and to expect the faculty member to do the "work" of the learning. The adult learner is there to absorb the learning.

Now, this does NOT say that this is an effective way to teach adults. This is saying that most of us, for years, have been taught via a certain method, namely, faculty-led instruction. We have not been expected to be part of the hands-on learning process. This is a pattern that is in the process of being broken down; however, we are talking about breaking down a pattern that has been in existence for decades, even centuries. This mindset is not going away easily, and to expect adult learners to automatically embrace a brand new way of learning immediately, or without proper orientation, is expecting too much." - "Patterns in Adult Learning," Judith M. Smith, Ph.D. http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/articles/adult_learning_judith_smith.htm

Why are so many of us struggling with keeping up with the devices used to produce and create data; the media types used to record this data that we spend so much time to produce, and covet dearly as, "information of value;" the ever-increasing preference of electronic, or digital, means to package and distribute this coveted information of ours (represented by something as simple as a package, or bucket, of individual segments of "little ole" 1's and 0's, of all things - just plain simple); the channels used to communicate to others just exactly why this information is so coveted and valuable; and the methods employed for sending, or transmitting, this so-called "valuable information" across the barriers of space and time - out into the virtual world that has no physical barriers preventing us from communicating with people of other countries, religions, race, and so forth - this potential, knowledge; that still requires a brain on the other end that is capable of reading, writing http://www.royblakeley.name/larry_blakeley/articles/directory_letter_lblakeley19651102.djvu, and arithmetic http://www.royblakeley.name/roy_james_blakeley/george_436th_fighter_squadron/arithmetic_lblakeley19630918.djvu or at the minimum, an understanding of these simple common denominators of the tools of communication?

Why is this such a struggle? Why is it even considered anything more that what it really is? Information, or data - all to be used by the receiver of such to create knowledge - information that (nowadays) can be distributed "cost-free?"

And, is this a phenomenon of inadequacy monopolized by just the older folks - you know who we are, 50-plus, like myself?

And, is this same struggle a phenomenon that our American are exemplifying today? Are they, in fact, backsliding on their studies of these simple skills? Is the American youth going to be working for someone else, in another "virtual" country of origin, in the not-too-distant future?

And, how much influence of our understanding of the education crisis in America does the biased, profit-driven, news media have to do with our perceptions of, not only the world around us, but of our perception of what the mainstream American youth are actually doing on their computers and the internet?

And, who really needs to learn this stuff, anyway? What difference does it make? If, I need to know something that I don't already know; or, if, I need to process this coveted information, and I don't already know how to go about it - "well, hell - I'll just pay someone else to do it for me."

So, all along, whether your "man-made" classification in society is characterized as, a geek, a possibly, or, maybe not, "normal person," a follower, a leader, a business owner, a student, or, whatever - there just seems to me to be this thread of commonality that each of us possess. And, that is this:

We all have to communicate; and, the way I look out into the world; both, the past, as well as the present; it really does not have any particular methods that are "in-vogue" at the time (in my way of thinking)- and, no matter whether you were a caveman with a stick scratching into the side of the walls of your haven (or, maybe it was the cave wo-man that did all this - especially, since this scratching quite possibly represents the very first signs of the act of creativity - "rock-art," so to speak - of interesting pictographs and petroglyphs), an Egyptian pyramid-designer laying out the plans for the next "wonder of the world," an Essene housed along the cliffs overlooking the Dead Sea, recording scripture, a nuclear scientist of the mid-20th century - working on his "weapons of mass-destruction, governmentally-supported projects," or even just the plain ole, ordinary, common, American housewife:

- that one common denominator of truth that all of these people needed to possess, in some form or fashion of adeptness, in order to communicate their "coveted" information to others, surely, must have unquestionably been the learned skills of communication that we sometimes take for granted, as if these skills were part of our genetic DNA - simply - reading, writing, and arithmetic.

But, for many of us - it's just not happening, anymore. We don't seem to want to read. We only write when we have to. And, we only use arithmetic to make sure we were not overcharged for something we just bought.

Why is that? And, more importantly - what is the overall effect to America's future of attitudes such as this, "I know just enough to get by, thank you."

.".. So, just by the response to these two questions, I knew what they needed - and all a large part of that message consisted of words of encouragement for them to go ahead and “jump” - the virtual water of the digital world was “fine.” So, it was these folks I reached out to....

But, not today. This presentation was not going to be centered around them, but was reserved for those poor folks needing a little push into the world of 'trial and error.'

I’m sure there were a number of these folks that had taken a few computer classes only to be left more confused as to “why?” Why they still just could not seem to make this “little fella” work for them. I mean they knew it could, but how in the world is it done? Where in the world do I start? What programs are available to me to do what my business needs require? And, more importantly, how do you learn them?" - "The Belly of the Ship," Larry Blakeley, Author and Publisher (imagine that!), September 20, 2004.

"And, more importantly to our future - after revealing these liars - I hope to ignite a spark, and create a fire of resistance against these liars. The time, now, is long overdue, for other fathers and men of character to leave our comforts of standing on the sidelines, as a passive protester, but rather, to rise up; look around; search for, uncover, and demand truth and accountability by our media, our university professors, our politicians, our government, etc. - truth of who we are, and the importance of our presence in American culture. It is time to take whatever action necessary to slay these liars and remove them from their havens - havens filled with other devious, stealthy, corrupt souls; souls that can legitimately described as wolves cloaked in sheep's clothing, insidiously in opposition to all truth that is based upon America's traditional values of manhood and fatherhood - lies intended to undermine our traditional values and principles of goodness of heart." - "A Message to the Common, Ordinary, American Man," Larry Blakeley, , October 10, 2004.

- "Why You Can't Learn," Larry Blakeley, Author and Publisher (imagine that - author and publisher - and, even further, imagine the power of enablement and empowerment that the internet, world wide web, and the "unquestionable power of the written word," all intertwined, combined, and originating from within the soul of a good man, ready to speak his heart and his mind - all from just a common, ordinary American man. Think about it. These truths are what I am trying to help you realize! And, if you don't understand - then sleep on it. And, if you still don't understand - check your blood pressure, pulse, and all those other methods that indicate whether we are living, or not. But, most importantly - don't give up trying to "get it."), October 16, 2004.
